The Organizations of Tarn: The Crusaders of the White Flame

The Knights of the Order of the White Flame are an organization devoted to the Light and to bringing righteous justice to the people of Tarn. The Knights will do all in their power to protect the innocent from harm and to defend those wronged by corruption and evil. Bearing the sacred White Flame kindled by Augustine, the Crusaders use its holy power as a shield and a sword, embracing the power of Light and using it to accomplish their tasks. Led by their commander, the knights follow a strict code of obedience and loyalty, keeping their own conduct virtuous so that others might follow their example. The Crusaders believe their duty is to Justice and the Light and therefore do not generally become involved in governmental disputes, being allied with no one nation. Crusaders are selected by a number of criteria, the most important of which are faith in the Light and devotion to its cause. Thus, only good-aligned characters may join the elite ranks of the Knights and bear the honor of carrying the White Flame.

Currently, Evelindor Vel'Mara, Lord Chamberlain of the Flame, is the leader of the Crusaders.

The Crusaders are also in charge of the Legion of the White Flame, a group of both military and civilian personnel charged with assisting the Crusaders. The Legion follows a strict weekly schedule of activities designed to assist them in their training.
